If you send e-mails in Cyrillic and receive only ?????? ???? ???? (tested with yahoo mail servers), the workaround for you is:
Go to the Configuration Editor (For newbies - Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Config Editor). Scroll down to mail.strictly_mime Click on it to change if from False to TRUE
